Last Quarter and Balsamic Moon

August 6 Monday
The last quarter Taurus Moon can support an appraisal of emerging new perspectives and how they are linked to old expectations. To take advantage of such conditions we need to take responsibility for our former attitudes and habits and recognize the value of having viewed life from different angles, if for no other reason than to choose from a more mature, soul-enthused place. At 7:50 pm, MDT, the Moon goes void of course for eleven minutes of shifting out of the Taurean ground into the air of Gemini, like pollen seemingly disintegrating when airborne. Enjoy some solitary activity this evening.

August 7 Tuesday
Tuesday’s Gemini Moon provides information that may fill in the gaps to totally understanding a recent situation. If you have not been able to make any apparent progress lately, tension and discord may prevail today. Evaluate what it is that’s truly desired and expend energy exploring a variety of ways in which a compromise might be suitable. Try verbalizing what has been accomplished, including what didn’t, or still doesn’t work. With this Gemini Moon the day may seem fragmented, and underlying connections hard to decipher.

August 8 Wednesday
With this Gemini Moon we may clearly recognize what triggers some troubling emotional state, and come to some certainty about how to move beyond obsessing over it. Emerging perspectives can help choose the best of the past and leave the rest to decay. Don’t be fooled by appearances. Appreciate the passing changes with social grace and with a commitment to be open to opportunities to grow. Late tonight the Moon leaves the often fidgety activity of the sign of Gemini for the more contained energy of Cancer.

August 9 Thursday
The Cancer Moon entered her balsamic phase early this morning. This is a visionary time when glimpses of future possibilitities, of potential, seep into our consciousness. This cradle-like Moon suggests we allow ourselves to float along and ingest the ideas that come to us, get a sense of what they feel like in our bodies. Such a reflective, inward focus, may bring a feeling of being held above the hazzles and conflicts of daily life. Our minds can easily move into a state of being bedazzled by life’s opportunities. We may hunger for more information, and our appetites may be sated.

August 10 Friday
Take advantage of any unexpected chance to do something special, to break away from the everyday routine with this Cancer Moon. She goes void of course at 6:57 am, MDT, and spends the rest of the day pouring out the Cancerian need for protection and security. We may toss around impossible dreams or immerse ourselves in artistic or idyllic pursuits. Yet we may experience being as loose as water in nature, which opens us to the possibility of being swallowed up or captivated. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

August 11 Saturday
The Moon is in Leo as if backstage waiting for the opportune moment to appear. We, too, might benefit by collecting ourselves for some reflection on what we intend to focus upon for the next lunation. On Sunday afternoon at 5:02 MDT, we have a new Moon with a theme of how we celebrate the supernatural in our lives. Do we putter around and occasionally address it? Is any reference to it conspicuously missing in our lives? Or is it so ritualized that what it means to live in the 3-D world is neglected? How do we celebrate the physical and the sublime?
