New and Crescent Moon

May 5 Monday
At 6:18 am, MT, we have a new Moon in Taurus, urging us to look at how we value the wisdom and beauty of nature in our daily life. How much time do we consciously spend outdoors? And how much do we look to nature for advice on how to live? Global warming is not nature’s fault. As a wiser, older being, Gaia is teaching us something. Observe your natural environment today for sudden, unexpected insights into the order of things. Notice how you pass your views on to other people. Is your approach stale? Do you need a new method of explaining what is of great worth to you?

May 6 Tuesday
With this new phase Gemini Moon we may feel like breaking out of a sense of confinement that has been lurking about lately. It may be quick and easy to slip into a state of agility with any undertaking. Thoughts and feelings interact in a refreshing way. Access to deeper inner realms is readily available. Some of the ideas that pop up from that interior space may seem fanciful, hard to believe. Yet if we think about fairy tales and other such yarns, we know that there are natural bits of wisdom embedded in them. Get those useful messages and apply them to new situations.

May 7 Wednesday
Wednesday’s Gemini Moon brings sudden changes of mind and wild thoughts. We may be able to use them in identifying a new direction to replace the usual humdrum. Don’t avoid the reality of unsettling moments. They are valuable switches that can teach us new moves in our daily dance. These could turn out to be shortcuts or a longer and more enjoyable approach to the tasks at hand. The Moon goes void of course at 7:37 pm, MT, until early tomorrow morning. As she fans out the plethora of data that Gemini collects, she may send lots of information our way, perhaps in our dreams.

May 8 Thursday
The Moon moved into Cancer this morning, confronting tough underlying stuff that encourages change. At 10:39 am, MT, she enters her crescent phase, which challenges us to do something with new developments. Whatever they are, they have long-term implications. We would be wise to invest some energy and intention into deciding on pursuing some recent ideas or insights. They may simply be feelings that, if followed, set future trends in our lives. Resonating to our hearts and feeling those inclinations backed with persistent efforts can lead to rewarding experiences.

May 9 Friday
With the Moon in Cancer and the planet Jupiter going retrograde, there is an atmosphere of charm, grace, and social celebration. Our awareness antenna is highly sensitive, finely tuned. Notice what belongs and what doesn’t. Strong yearnings get passionately driven as Mars shifts to a faster gear by moving into Leo today. The Moon begins to empty herself of Cancer at 6:06 pm, MT. During this void of course period, which lasts till tomorrow morning, we can collect images for a new chapter in our lives. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

May 10 Saturday
We have a Leo Moon for the weekend, encouraging us to open up and take risks that bring renewal and fullness to our lives. At times it make be challenging to be in an easy flow, having fun. Awkward, fumbling moments may erupt. On Sunday evening at 9:47, MT, the Moon enters her first quarter phase. Plan for an action-packed week ahead! At this stage of the cycle we need to circulate energy and get past emotional obstacles that keep us stuck. Consider developing some innovative behavior, and look for a safe place to exhibit it.
