First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

April 23 Monday
The Cancer Moon is void of course until late this afternoon. While she empties herself of Cancer, she is in an extremely feminine mode, inundated with compelling ideas. If we don’t take time to think over and develop new perspectives, this can be an overwhelming day. And we can overlook the protective space needed to listen to our souls’ yearnings and pursue them. At 5:36 pm, MDT, the Moon moves into Leo, ready to take on absolutely anything and everything to dramatized beliefs and the feelings that support them.

April 24 Tuesday
Shortly after midnight this Tuesday, the Leo Moon entered her first quarter phase, the period in her cycle where she leaves the confines of the space between the earth and the Sun and ventures beyond the orbiting path of the earth to receive more light. For us to grow in awareness we need to pay attention to our inner thoughts while in the most restrained and formal of settings. This is especially true in those moments of being deeply engrossed in the routine of one’s daily work. Ideas can show up then that, if given attention, can connect us to other worlds. Store such thoughts for when you can fully play with them.

April 25 Wednesday
The Leo Moon reminds us that what fires up our individuality is at its core the collective spirit. And during these transitional times it is our cooperative yet individual performances within a bigger drama that will move the masses to another level of co-existence. A lot depends on whether or not and how we embrace new expectations. By way of example, how do we circulate our ideas on global warming? And what, if any, small steps have we taken to demonstrate our concerns for the future of our natural environment?

April 26 Thursday
The Moon moved into Virgo early this morning, stirring up a tangible expression of one’s feelings about discordant elements and a determination to change them. The power of suggestion is alive and can rouse passion. This Virgo Moon reminds us that we can draw from inner resources and handle complex situations. We may be attracted to unorthodox, freewheeling solutions, yet the mercurial side of Virgo helps keep us sensitive to natural processes that involve all the interrelatedness issues that must be addressed.

April 27 Friday
Friday’s Virgo Moon releases some volatile energy! Beware of trying to go in all directions! Tension builds and may leave one feeling overworked. Some people may think you’re self-centered when all you want is some help. Avoid exaggerating about circumstances. Just handle things as efficiently as possible with an intention of cooperatively seeking improvement. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

April 28 Saturday
The Virgo Moon entered her gibbous phase just after midnight. It’s time to apply some self-discipline to walk one’s talk, to live according to one’s values. What we truly believe about soul and spirit is on the line, and we may need to cut new ground to stand up for those beliefs. The Moon goes void of course at 1:14 pm, MDT, for two and half hours. During this time she is voiding or sweeping out the concrete certitude of Virgo. Uncertainty can prevail. At 3:45 pm, the Moon moves into Libra for the rest of the weekend, helping us put ideas into contexts. Circumstances may come together in a highly spirited and unusual manner on Sunday.
