Last Quarter and Balsamic Moon

May 26 Monday
The Aquarius Moon magnifies our perception of setbacks and changes of direction that may make little sense. Specifying what’s going on may be extremely challenging as Mercury and Neptune go retrograde this morning, which is like trying to back up in dense fog. Or, a more appropriate analogy with the air signs of Aquarius and Gemini involved, this could be like going dancing with friends and everyone puts on headphones and dances to their own kind of music. There may be an inability to be in sync with others today, but spacing out in solitude may lead to a rich free-flow of symbolic thought.

May 27 Tuesday
Tuesday starts with a void of course Aquarian Moon, forming an open-endedness that can help us put together all the pieces of insight, synchronicities, and other experiences that have brought us to a point of new understanding. At 7:38 am, MT, the Moon moves into Pisces, still honoring that early morning process of synthesizing and integrating. Profound realizations about the past may occur. It may be difficult to meet our assumed expectations for this day. At 8:57 pm, the Moon enters her last quarter phase, wherein we are called to honor the value of revelations about our interior life and its connection to ancient wisdom.

May 28 Wednesday
The last quarter Pisces Moon is sensitive to absorbing information and making many of the numerous connections possible. We need to carefully analyze data today, noting any sense of incongruity, as it is easy to fall into an illusion that everything fits well together. This Moon phase is about picking up on the signals of a new consciousness that wants our attention. That may draw us away from some disappointment and its bitter aftertaste that has come with this lunation. There’s opportunity for exploring new options that can bring about a total change of attitude.

May 29 Thursday
The Pisces Moon is void of course this morning, ending her travels through the porous realm of Piscean fantasy and mysticism. Our imaginations may be vividly active, flooding our minds with new possibilities. Ungroundedness may make it difficult to focus on obligations. Sticking to practical matters can help. At 1:52 pm, MT, the Moon exits Pisces and moves into Aries. Our self-control gets a boost and our energy levels get refueled with intense, deep primal power to go in a new direction. At this stage of the cycle that may be a head trip about the various ways in which our internal life is connected to the external.

May 30 Friday
By taking on a pioneering spirit with this Aries Moon, we can look at what is no longer functional in our lives, like a particular relationship or belief about oneself, and find ways to re-interpret our view of that situation. Maybe something has decayed that simply needs to be jettisoned. Get to the heart of its pattern to fully release it. For much of Saturday the Moon will be void of course, putting out the sparks of Aries. During that time we may be susceptible to ego inflation, separating from commonalities. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

May 31 Saturday
The Aries Moon is void of course, ending her explorations of new directions. During this time we may overlook small things and forget the plans we had for the day. The Moon entered her balsamic phase at 6:57 am, MT, just after beginning this voiding process. This combination creates a restlessness to get on with the future, to take steps towards a new discovery, using one’s rational brain power. A void of course Moon prefers trans-rational mind energy. To avoid the mental rub, wait until 4:18 pm, when the Moon moves into grounding Taurus. Then we can build against the odds. Sunday may bring some troubling situations. Try to focus on the underlying foundation for your June activities.
