Balsamic and New Moon

August 25 Monday
With Monday’s Gemini Moon, we may gather all the information pertaining to how we give new life to something essential to our creative nature and use it to concentrate on innovative personal behavior. At 3:52 pm, MT, the Moon starts to blow off data-rich Gemini, creating a slight disorientation during her short void of course period. At 6:18 pm, she moves into her home sign, Cancer. There, she heightens feelings, especially about how they have motivated us to work through the challenges we’ve faced during this month if we’ve wanted to change. Remembering feeds our realizations.

August 26 Tuesday
With the Cancer Moon we can take delight in what has recently taken shape in our personal sphere. Self-consciousness is amplified, and with that magnification we can choose to be in the joy of self-discovery or we can become overly self-critical. To get a grasp on levels of approval and disapproval, examine whatever feelings arise against the backdrop of family and social dynamics and expectations. Do you want to preserve conditions of the past at the expense of personal progress? The sign of Cancer represents the challenge to develop one’s individuality amidst the comfort and joy of tribal membership.

August 27 Wednesday
The Cancer Moon entered her balsamic phase early this morning. While she drips off the light of the Sun during this period. She is keenly aware of the vast hidden realms of the cosmos. Some of her darkness symbolizes our ability to perform habits even in the dark. We are challenged to sing a new tune learned during this cycle, one full of poignant anticipation for the next steps in the dance of life. The Moon goes void of course at 6:13 pm, MT, draining herself of the soothing waters of Cancer for over two hours. We may articulate deep intense feelings that have a profound impact during this time. At 8:51 pm, the Moon moves into cheery Leo!

August 28 Thursday
Thursday’s Leo Moon, in some odd sort of way, pushes things forward, and we may find ourselves rushing to keep up this morning. Change is ubiquitous, and at the end of a lunation we may feel as if we don’t know what’s what anymore. New inspirations are arising while some things are disintegrating. The days right before a new Moon are often quite strange. Today and tomorrow we may be deeply absorbed in what may feel like a loss of self or of another. We need to look for the hidden secrets in life. In so doing, we just might discover an underlying harmony.

August 29 Friday
The Leo Moon is at the end of her cycle with the Sun. We may glimpse how well we have integrated our inner and outer lives. This provides an opportunity to embrace our finesse as well as our clumsiness. Both give us feedback on our human performance; both can be applauded. With an open-heart it is easier to surrender one’s ego, to give oneself to greater possibilities. It is the grace of our spirit to easily step into the unknown. This is the profound wisdom Leo seeks!

August 30 Saturday
The Moon moved into Virgo during the night and conjoins the Sun at 1:58 pm, MT. This new Moon emphasizes the need for direct experience to both draw us deeper into our inner magic as well as lead us out into the best that our culture and civilization can offer us. This new cycle begins with moments and opportunities meant to be seized if for no other reason than to inform us about what prevents us from being full on in the experience of life. By attending to our emotional forces, especially the more gentle ones, our consciousness can focus on our inner fire. Its sparks can enliven our quest for liberating and even extraordinary encounters this weekend.
