Gibbous and Full Moon

August 11 Monday
With this Sagittarius Moon we may gather all that we need to fuel our inner spirit with techniques that get at what is conspicuously missing in our internal life that can bring about a total renewal. Each of us may need to take charge of cleaning up some personal identity issues within our minds, as sudden, unanticipated self-images bob up to the surface of our consciousness. We can be ultra-sensitive to new elements that offer opportunities to develop new behaviors. The challenge is to understand and energize what is essential in one’s performance.

August 12 Tuesday
The Moon moves into Capricorn at 5:42 am, MT, bringing powers of concentration into a workable rhythm. We may avidly go after information previously unseen that stimulates a real sense of how much lies dormant in our subconscious minds. At 4:51 pm, the Moon enters her gibbous phase, making things more complicated by challenging us to venture deeper into the labyrinth of our feelings to look at the side effects of arrogance or of a love affair with glamour and glitz. Those things that inflate egos can prevent us from dealing with bothersome psychic doubts that everything is in sync.

August 13 Wednesday
With this morning’s Capricorn Moon we may feel inundated by memories of everywhere and everything we’ve been through. Some of them may help us re-interpret the complexities of our lives. A sense of loneliness may permeate today. By creating a space of solitude, we can use this to engage in dialogue between our inner and outer self to reinforce cooperative re-creation of who we think we are. Some of us may need to be productive in outward behavior, but inwardly we can nurse our spirit. Opportunities for improvement may surprisingly appear as the day wanes.

August 14 Thursday
During the morning hours with this Capricorn Moon, we may sense a burst of energy that is self-reinforcing. Precious parts of our souls may demand our attention. At 11:09 am, MT, the Moon goes void of course. She begins to empty herself of cautious yet influential Capricorn. This unbounded period of time can oscillate between realism and idealism. Feelings can promote distorted views and also lead to all sorts of creative inspirations. This period lasts until 4:56 pm when the Moon moves into progressive Aquarius, urging us to synthesize recent developments to advance our personal evolution.

August 15 Friday
The Moon is in Aquarius, and there’s weirdness in the air. New information seems to come from every direction. It may be difficult to separate what is of value and what is utter nonsense. Even expert advice may seem a bit odd. By making some adjustments, we may see ourselves from different angles, which could motivate us to change our lives. Careful thinking and cautious comparisons may forewarn us about necessary alterations. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

August 16 Saturday
The Aquarius Moon is eclipsed by the earth at 3:16 pm, MT. Even though this is not visible in the USA, the affects of it can be sensed. We may feel the mysterious unfolding of how we adapt to get through difficult times or how we resist change even in the midst of harsh realities. The days ahead may reveal how we can rise above hardships and joyfully renew ourselves. This is a big challenge and calls for total dedication to transforming one’s life. On Sunday the Moon is in Pisces heightening sensitivity to big ideas yet blinding addictive behavior. It may help to get into a lofty head-space.
