First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

February 2 Monday
The Taurus Moon shows us half of her face as she rises around noon and enters her first quarter phase at 4:13 pm, MT. This is when we show our commitment to a new course of action, to developing a new project, or carefully compiling evidence on how we deal with and explore new ideas related to progress and expansion in our lives. This all relates to some new possibility that showed up last week. It may, however, have seemed challenging to tackle. Yet playing around with ideas in one’s head may bring some surprising openings to what has been trapped in one’s subconscious mind.

February 3 Tuesday
The Taurus Moon is interweaving all the worlds to resolve what appears dissimilar, to create a blanket of happiness. Investing emotional energy only in specific items may hinder one from experiences that broaden perspectives. Today’s challenge is to be inclusive of every token offered. One’s self-esteem can be boosted by bringing more of oneself into action. The Moon goes void of course at 6:27 pm, MT, for forty-seven minutes of sweeping out self-indulgent Taurus. Be overly conscious of what is being taken in during that time. At 7:14 pm, the Moon moves into versatile Gemini.

February 4 Wednesday
The Gemini Moon is sharp and alert to the dynamics of situations, to what is being said, perceiving how things ought to be if social adaptability mattered. The mercurial, or=2 0unstable, nature of Gemini in this cycle needs to be tethered to the inner mind-body connection that sustains a complete world within each of us. Remember the techniques that link you to your underlying core and adhere to them as if they are ingredients in a recipe that always brings satisfaction. Careful thinking and concentration is called for with today’s mental work.

February 5 Thursday
With Thursday’s Gemini Moon we can readily pick up on whatever is tapping on the door between our subconscious and conscious mind. The only thing that stands in the way of assimilating this information is our addictive habits. At 10:45 am, MT, the Moon goes void of course until tonight at 9:06 when she moves into Cancer. While she blows off and scatters the mental acuity of Gemini, our minds can be kept busy making free associations that fill in a design for some hope, or we can just space out. There is a strong pull to organize something that broadens one’s liberty.

February 6 Friday
The Cancer Moon entered her gibbous phase early this morning. This is a time when critical differences are emphasized. It’s important to know what preconceptions, beliefs, or opinions need to be discarded so that the spirit of one’s individuality can be expressed. We may feel the culprits within that block our path to exulting in our wholeness and do something or nothing, gaining emancipation or remaining stuck. The choice, as always, is ours. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

February 7 Saturday
The Cancer Moon went void of course at 12:07 pm, MT, for over nine hours of draining herself of the comforts of her home base. Self-forgetting can be common during this time, along with uncertainty yet a strange receptivity to what has been creatively visualized. At 9:43 pm, the Moon moves into high-spirited Leo, pouring enthusiasm like a monsoon does water. One might awaken on Sunday conscious of a great wealth of change taking shape. Transitions may have occurred that have brought the gift of being quintessentially oneself. Such a revelation may precede tomorrow morning’s lunar eclipse.
