First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

September 5 Monday
With this Sagittarius Moon, we may feel high-spirited and confident, especially if we’re free from work. Joining in holiday festivities can be super fun! Parades that focus on social issues can really get people psyched up today and out of their usual holiday celebrations. A sense of promise permeates. Ceremonial procedures can project ideals yet bring up issues around groundedness and practicality. At 6:31 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course for an hour and a half of putting out the zeal of Sagittarius. Retiring to the seclusion of one’s home during this time may be protective of one’s interests. At 8:05 pm, the Moon moves into no-nonsense Capricorn.

September 6 Tuesday
This Capricorn Moon brings out toughness and resilience. During the first quarter Moon phase evidence of growth brings confidence. There’s tension in relationships to improve cooperative projects or in personal desires to break through old stream-lined but monotonous procedures. Relief comes when applying practical and sound practices. The deeply thoughtful Capricorn part of us may seek to fill in the circumstances with some aesthetic touches, especially if there are deficiencies. Capricorn’s sense of social obligations may accommodate difficulties and find ways to balance out the situation.

September 7 Wednesday
With this Capricorn Moon, anything that can be done to create the kind of day you would like to have most of the time will be beneficial. Today there’s a magnetic glue bringing things together. At 2:35 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course until early tomorrow morning. While she is shoveling off the steadfastness of Capricorn, we may satisfy emotional needs in the quietness of solitude. Boundaries are fragile during this time, and the Capricorn part of us sometimes thinks it’s our duty to supervise everything related to that area. Time can be wasted double-checking things.

September 8 Thursday
The Moon moved into inventive Aquarius early this morning and entered her gibbous phase at 4:32 am, MT. This is when a cheery outlook can be an incentive to keep working towards the fulfillment of this cycle. At this point in the lunation a confrontation is called for with some aspect of one’s self image that perpetuates useless patterns. Our perceptions of this may shift and become refined as Mercury reenters Virgo tonight. Taking the time to contemplate sudden flashes of intuition that shower the mind today can bring all sorts of creative ideas. Aquarius is receptive to abrupt inner changes.

September 9 Friday
This Aquarius Moon seems to bring out an alertness for externalizing and concretizing whatever will bring joy to daily habits. This can be productive with an attunement to the spirit world for inspiration. Using metaphysical tools like the I Ching or tarot cards can help. Aquarius often sees and goes beyond the natural world for information, but can self-destruct by putting too much trust in false hopes and unpredictable futures. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

September 10 Saturday
Saturday morning’ Aquarius Moon may have seemed like a crystal clear dream world. At 1:26 pm, MT, the Moon moved into the enchanting realm of Pisces, and our best traits, those that exemplify that we are spiritual beings, seem to be highlighted. The Pisces part of us can usher us into a world of innerness where forgiveness and acceptance abide. Tonight and into Sunday morning angelic guidance is available to make adjustments to Sunday’s routines. Unconscious truths can surface Sunday which our probing minds can use to prepare us for the full Moon’s revelations early Monday morning.
