Crescent and First Quarter Moon

May 17 Monday
At 7:37 am, MT, the Cancer Moon enters her crescent phase, and during the next three and half days one can expect some struggle to find a way or place to illuminate the deeper meanings of one’s trophies and reputation. Today offers all kinds of promise to those devoted to maintaining security while keeping everything going. Yet success involves staying tuned to everything strange and unusual. Cancer is expertly skillful at showing the well-defined surface appearance of things. And when a stream of extraordinary feelings is expressed, a connection can be made to a new sense of hidden potential.

May 18 Tuesday
With this Cancer Moon one’s individuality feels puffed up enough to expose some personal glorified moments to those both in and outside of family or cultural circles. Inner power can be easily accessed to explore the impact of one’s special attainments on one’s social circle. At 2:35 pm, MT, the Moon voids herself of the emotional outpourings of Cancer for a half hour. At 3:06 pm, she moves into the exhibition-prone domain of Leo. Dramatically publicizing memories and reflections about special moments upon which one’s reputation is formed may give one the determination to recall even more such experiences and compare and contrast them.

May 19 Wednesday
The Leo Moon feels comfortable with surface appearances but is really interested with what lies inside. If you are looking at visible experiences that you have accumulated as trophies, it is time to compare their external value with their intrinsic value. Think about the underlying messages they give and how they stimulate heartfelt thoughts. Whatever emerges that transcends the physical tokens of accomplishments is of most importance. The key is to get at something so essential that it is difficult to let go of it. Indeed, one may feel like fighting to protect it.

May 20 Thursday
This Leo Moon suggests an attitude adjustment so that everything is brought together in such a way as to support one’s happiness. When we feel good, life shines with promise, and there’s satisfaction with the experiences we have acquired. Certain newly emerged realizations about our trophy moments may be fragile yet full of potential to be explored. Such a venture needs to be approached with great sensitivity. At 5:43 pm, MT, the Moon enters her first quarter phase, a time to develop this new reality with an openness to showing off the mighty things that have happened to us. The Moon also voids herself of self-assured Leo and moves into choosy Virgo at 5:58 pm.

May 21 Friday
The Moon is in Virgo and the Sun in Gemini, stimulating information exchanges that draw from inner resources that support handling complex needs. Virgo is a sign that indicates a readiness to make an effort to develop something, which is just what the first quarter phase requires. The area of our lives that Virgo corresponds to may be busy polishing our trophy-experiences so that certain skills and talents can take us to another level of interaction. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

May 22 Saturday
This Virgo Moon addresses what is immediately important to do. There may, however, be an ideal situation that suddenly materializes, and things will need to be dropped to pursue this opportunity. The Moon voids herself of scrutinizing Virgo at 8:34 pm, MT, and moves into accommodating Libra at 8:50 pm. On Sunday, converging forces intensify love power, and Libra provides us with an eye and a feel for how things could be. Libra urges us to offer what we have refined and to equally receive the gifts of others. Many things are coming together to open space for a new level of consciousness.
